God is real and his timing is perfect!! Throughout this last week I have seen so many miracles. This week we made goals and as we continued to work at them and stayed in motion, we were able to meet some goals and see people we normally wouldn't have. On Thursday we had to park our car for 5 hours, it was our zones goal for the week. As we did this and just showed our face and took time to walk around we were able to make so many friends and say hi to a lot of people.
Since I've been here we have been trying to get in contact with Tyler. He either hasn't been home or he's been too busy to even open the door. While our car was parked we go to his house and we said if he doesn't answer then we have to drop him. So we knock and he answers!! Weeks before I got here they gave him a Book of Mormon so we asked if he had a chance to look at the Book of Mormon he said yes he did! We invited him to take the lessons and he said yes! It's crazy how it worked perfectly with him and how we were able to get in contact with him when we needed to. We are going to our church building tomorrow to have our lesson.
Friday was about the craziest day of my entire life. So on Wednesday our mission President tells us that our district has a temple appointment on Friday! This was so exciting because I didn't think I'd get to go this soon, but I was excited. So we wake up on Friday and start going and we look at our tire pressure and it's all the way down to 25psi and so we were like we got to go get this looked at. So we go into poulsbo to a Les Schwab and they look at it and tell us that we have a screw in our tire. We have to drive to Seattle to go to the temple and we can't drive on that tire, but they tell us they can't fix it because they need a new tire and they don't have the right ones. SO.... they put the spare on and we drove to our Elder Higbee and Elder Penrod's apartment (in poulsbo) and we ask if we can have their car for the day. They of course say yes and after that whole thing we drive to seattle!! We rode on the ferry from Bainbridge to Sealttle and it was such a fun experience.
We got to the temple and it was truly amazing. We did an endowment session and they had made changes in the session and it was amazing to see and feel the inspiration behind the changes. The whole time my heart was full with the spirt it was truly a wonderful experience! In the celestial room I felt so much love from my Heavenly Father and I'm so grateful I am able to feel that.
After the temple we had to drive in Seattle, which is terrifying. We didn't know where we were going, people were honking, and we almost crashed a couple times but we made it to lunch at Chick-fil-A. While at lunch we were told by some other missionaries that the ferry back to Bainbridge was closed which turns our 1 hour trip into a 3 hour trip back home. We finished lunch and then we started home. We put navigation on but instead of taking us the long way around it started taking us to the ferry and before we noticed, we were practically there. We both thought that we should just go look to see of they were open so we did. Turns out they had a ferry in 10 minutes!! That was a huge tender mercy, I don't think we could have made that drive. We were both mentally exhausted and did not want to make that trip. God is real and aware of our situations!!
Friday night we had a lesson with a recently baptized member named Li and one of her ministering sisters comes with us. During the lesson, out of the blue, she says I noticed you were limping, are you ok? Li tells her she has a bunion, so this Sister gets down on the floor and starts acting like a doctor in the middle of our lesson! She takes Li's sock off and starts giving her advice and exercises to do. Me and Sister Elggren jut roll our eyes and smile and nod. The lesson part was good, not the bunion part. So if you have a bunion and need exercises, let me know, I got you.
Saturday we went back and got 4 new tires so we're doing good now :)
The weekend was good, we had stake conference and the presiding general authority was Bishop Wadell from the presiding bishopric. He was an amazing speaker and I loved everything he said, it was a good stake conference. It was also Superbowl Sunday! Which actually sucks because nobody is out and nobody wants to talk to us so it was really hard to do missionary work. We couldn't even knock doors because people were going to be upset. It was still a glorious day! We took lots of pictures.
I felt like there was a theme this week about trusting in the Lord. 2 Nephi 22:2 says Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation." It's so important that we remeber that He is there for us and everything we have and can do is all because of Him. I invite you all to find one way to trust the Lord a little extra this week. As you do, I know you will feel strengthened by Him.
