Well everyone, my time at the MTC has come to an end. The past couple of weeks have been so great and so amazing! I have been able to grow so much the past couple weeks and it's going to be hard to leave the Lord's campus. This week has flown by extra fast, but I am so excited to be finally going to Washington.
This last Sunday I was asked to give a talk in Sacrament meeting and I was able to talk about how Jesus Christ has been my strength throughout my life and especially here at the MTC. Our focus on Sunday was to know God's Character and Feel God's love. During the study go and do experience we learned about God and I increased my knowledge of him. During our lives we need to strive to get closer to God and the only way to do that is through Jesus Chrsit. The closer we draw near to Christ we will in turn become closer to God.
On Monday we had a service project. We went and cleaned some of the buildings. We also shoveled and swept snow from the entrances into the building. Yes I said swept.......We legit did not have enough shovels for all of us so the lady in charge of it all gave the rest of us brooms, and I swept the snow. It was really hard to get up and do service and take trash out and sweep snow in the early morning but it was really fun and ended up being great. I felt like Cinderella while I was sweeping because I was just really going for it and sweeping like a maniac! Then my whole motto that day was about me being Cinderella. I might be just missing being able to watch TV, movies. Doing service was really fun and I had a lot of fun with all the other sisters.
So our district has been obsessed with accents and currently we are talking in British accents a lot. Elder Davis's favorite saying to say in his British accent is 'Absolute Garbage" (Ahb-sa-loot gah-bah-ge) He says it for everything. Especially the food. The food here is bad as you know and so therefore it's Ahb-sa-loot gah-bah-ge!! We have really all gotten in the habit and the other day Elder Peck was trying to tell a completely normal story and then he automatically started talking in a British accent. We literally can't talk normal anymore. Also Elder Peck wanted me to let all of you know that he is def the best at speaking British.
On Tuesday the General Authority speaker was Elder Kaeron and his wife. Ironically he is British. My district sang in the choir again and we sang "I'll go where you want me to go" I love being able to bear my testimony through song and even though I am not the best singer I am so thankful for music and how it brings the spirit to all our devotionals. I love being at the MTC and singing with all the other missionaries. During the devotional Sister Kaeron talked about how we are set apart as missionaries to live a higher, hoiler, more mature way. We are HOLY missionaries. Holy means to be consecrated, dedicated, and set apart for a specific purpose. I love being a missionary.
The pilot program with focus on the temple has been a huge blessing in my life! Together as a district we have done just over 170 ordinances!! Which is so absolutely crazy!! Going to the temple has given me so much confidence in feeling God's power and I feel more confident in recognizing and feeling the spirit.
Love you all so much!!!
