GRANDMA HAS SPRITE CRANBERRY!!!!!

February 7th, 2023

Oh hi it's me now....

So I just sent out an email, but some exciting things happened!! I'm in Washington now!! Woot woot! Anyway so now my p day is on Tuesday now and forever, and that's because we go to the temple on p days! So the focus on the temple has not gone away, and I am so thankful for that!!
I started my travel to Washington at 6:00am on Friday and by 12:00 I was in Washington. It was a crazy and long day! We took a bus, a train, another train, a bus, an airplane, and a van to get to the mission. When we first got here we had lots of training done by President and Sister Metts and their crew. I love everyone at the mission office and they are all so good!
That night we stayed at the Inn at Gig Harbor with the Tacoma STLs (sister training leaders) and they were so nice! The hotel was also nice and me and Sister Lines had such a good time together, but it was also hard to say goodbye. When we woke up we ate and then went right back to the mission office to get our new companion and trainer. And my new trainer is...............drumroll please..............

SISTER ELGGREN!!!!

She's my mission mom:) and she is so amazing. We get along so far and she is really nice to me as I am learning more about the mission and how things work when you're actually in the field. I have met so many wonderful people already.

So my first area that I am serving in is Bainbridge Island. Bainbridge is absolutely beautiful!! Like I can't with this place. There are trees everywhere and there's green all around. I went from full blown winter to happy happy springtime in approximately 2 hours. Bainbridge is about an hour from Tacoma but a little driving never scared me.
In Bainbridge we stay at Grandma's house. Grandma is a widow who has been housing Sisters since 2015 and I am her 46th sister to stay here. She is so sweet! She is 88 years old and will be 89 in April and she literally went skydiving at 85. Like what is that, I want to be like Grandma!
My first Sunday meeting was..........interesting to say the least. Everything was normal and good and I was asked to bear my testimony and that went well. Then we had a girl get up and she brought a computer that was used for I don't know what and a tuning fork to get rid of her nerves. She also told us that we need to get out of our heads and think more with our feelings. Anyway it was quite a fun thing to be a part of and I am loving the ward already. It's a small ward but it's a great ward! Surprisingly lots of people know where Panguitch is!

I have already had two member dinners and they have been amazing!! The Romney's we went to on Sunday and they have kids the same age as my brothers and the youngest reminded me so much of Coleman. He was obsessed with soccer and fifa and fortnight. It was great, but he also reminded me of Caleb because he was a nerd, I called him the Mayor of Nerd Town and he laughed, pushed up his fake glasses and said, "according to my calculations". It was so funny and then they had a daughter that was super quiet but super nice that reminded me of Tyler. The other member dinner I had was with the Amelangs and they have a daughter daisy who ironically works at ACE Hardware, so that was fun. She was super nice and filled me in on the many missed ACE stories from Tyler.

While knocking on doors this week we ran into a lady named Dianne who joined the church when she was 12 but fell away. She is super nice though and she works at a food bank that feeds a lot of people and she really is just a pure person. She is also studying the New Testament just for fun because she loves reading about Jesus.

We are also teaching a young boy named Jayden who is 7. He lives with his Nana and she wants Jayden to get baptized but his dad does not. We are teaching him the lessons because he doesn't know anything but hopefully we can convince his dad to let him get baptized because it's what him and his Nana want. He loves church and loves learning about the gospel. Matthew 18:3-4 says,
“Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven”
May we all be as a little child and love as a child does.

Dinner is great, members are great, grandma is great, knocking is almost great, Jayden is great, Sister Elggren is great, Bainbridge is great, and most importantly God is great!
Love you all, talk to you next week

Also just so everyone knows I am not allowed to contact anybody over Facebook but I will gladly talk to anyone over email.
