It has been a wonderful few weeks at church. Kaelynn gave a talk in church on Janurary 8th about why she decided to serve a mission and the things that have helped her perpare for her mission. Laura played the musical number after Kaelynn spoke. She played "Called to Serve". After the meeting Kaelynn was set apart by our Stake President, Brady Eyre. He gave her great advise and a beautiful blessing. After the setting apart Coleman was set apart as a deacon in the Aaronic Preisthood. We had a wonderful luncheon with many amazing family and friends in attendance. We love and appricate all those that show their love and support to Kaelynn and our family.
Home MTC started for Kaelynn on January 9th. She got to meet her companion and her district. Throughout the week she has grown to love each of them especially her companion. Her companion is Sister Lines from Safford, Arizona. Kaelynn is looking forward to meeting her companion and district in person on Wednesday the 18th. While Kaelynn has been home she has been busy with meetings and studing. We have also got to spend quility time together as a family. We went to a wrestling meet, basketball game, played games and done puzzles, and played pickle ball all as a family. Kaelynn has also been practicing piano songs from the simplifed hymn book. Our family has already seen the blessing of missionary work.
On Sunday the 15th our our family felt blessed to have all three boys bless, prepare and pass the sacrement. Tyler was able to bless, Caleb prepared and passed, and Coleman passed. As we (Ben and Laura) sat and watched our children we gained an understanding of what Mary might have been feeling when the scriptures said "But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart".
We look forward to Wednesday as a bitter/sweet day when Kaelynn can "Go and Do" and let God pervail in her life and she helps gather Israel.
Last week at church before Kaelynn leaves
